В Россию эти европейские тенденции проникли в годы правления Петра I. На протяжении двух веков в России существовала модель государственно-церковных отношений, в которой сочеталось господствующее положение православия с терпимым отношением к другим религиозным традициям. Однако во второй половине царствования Александра I произошел отход от этой системы – во главу угла вместо православия была поставлена мистическая общехристианская религиозность. Эта модель исчерпала себя к 1824 г., когда был совершен возврат к прежней системе.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>Practices of religious tolerance began to take shape in Europe in the 16th – 17th centuries under the influence of the Reformation. These European trends penetrated into Russia during the reign of Peter the Great. For two centuries Russia had a model of state-church relations which combined the predominance of Orthodoxy with tolerance of other religious traditions. However, in the second half of the reign of Alexander I, there was a departure from this system: instead of Orthodoxy, a mystical pan-Christian religiosity was put at the center.
